Musical Hungary programme
A Muzsikáló Magyarország program célja a hagyományos magyar kávéházi, éttermi cigányzene megőrzése és népszerűsítése.
A Magyar Turisztikai Ügynökség kezdeményezésére 2024-ben újraindított programban idén is 4-6 fős, vonósokból, klarinétosokból és cimbalmosokból álló cigányzenekarok nyújtanak zenei szolgáltatást. A turisztikai főszezonban − június 2. és szeptember 28. között − heti 4 nap, napi 3 órán keresztül muzsikálnak a programban résztvevő zenekarok a vendéglátóhelyeken. Az 1,1 milliárd forint keretösszegű támogatás teljes mértékben fedezi az élőzene költségeit, ezzel tehermentesítve a vendéglátóhelyeket, ugyanakkor lehetővé téve, hogy minél több étteremben, kávézóban és cukrászdában szólalhasson meg újra a tradicionális muzsika.
A zenei hagyomány megőrzése hozzájárul ahhoz, hogy a zenész életforma újra perspektívát kínáljon a fiatal generációk számára is, miközben a vendégek valódi, csak Magyarországra jellemző élménnyel gazdagodnak.
Idén várhatóan bővül a program helyszínkínálata is: júniustól az ország főbb turistaérkezési csomópontjain, illetve egyes fővárosi turisztikai attrakciók közelében muzsikaszó hívja majd fel a turisták figyelmét hazánk egyedi attrakciójára. A cél, hogy már az országba érkezés pillanatától megjelenjen a tradicionális magyar zenei élmény, és a turisták egyúttal információt kapjanak arról, mely vendéglátóhelyeken találkozhatnak a program kínálatával.
A program kiemelt rendezvénye idén is a Dankó Pista Emléknap lesz, amelyre június 14-én kerül sor. A világhírű prímás születésnapjához igazodva főváros-szerte közel 100 cigányzenekar tölti meg zenével a vendéglátóhelyek teraszait. Az esemény célja nemcsak az emlékezés, hanem az is, hogy a műfaj szerelmesei és új felfedezői személyesen találkozhassanak az élő muzsika élményével.

The goal of the Musical Hungary programme is to preserve and promote traditional Hungarian Romani music in cafés and restaurants.
In the programme, which was relaunched in 2024 at the initiative of the Hungarian Tourism Agency, Romani bands consisting of 4-6 string, clarinet and cimbalom players will perform also this year. During the peak tourist season − between 2 June and 28 September − the bands participating in the programme will play music in restaurants 4 days a week and for 3 hours a day. The HUF 1.1 billion grant fully covers the costs of live music, thus relieving the burden on catering establishments and at the same time ensuring that traditional music can be heard again in as many restaurants, cafés and pastry shops as possible.
Preserving the musical tradition helps the musician lifestyle offer new perspectives to younger generations, while guests can get an experience that is unique only in Hungary.
This year, the range of the programme venues is also expected to expand: from June, music will be performed at Hungary’s main tourist arrival hubs and near certain tourist sites in the capital city to draw tourists’ attention to this unique attraction of our country. The goal is to provide a traditional Hungarian musical experience from the moment of arrival in the country and to inform tourists about the restaurants that are included in the programme.
The highlight of the programme will be the Pista Dankó Memorial Day also this year, which will take place on 14 June. On the birthday of the world-famous band leader about a hundred Romani bands will fill the terraces of restaurants with music throughout the capital city. The purpose of the event is not only to remember but also to ensure that people who love this genre and those who are just discovering it should personally experience live music.
